The 2026 Honda Passport is arriving in dealerships now with an all-new, next-gen build and a starting price of $46,200 with destination.

Most of the marketing material focuses on the TrailSport grade, touted as the “most rugged, off-road capable Honda SUV ever” and, as you can imagine, is not what $46,200 will net consumers; rather, the entry-level RTL, whereas the first TrailSport grade starts at $49,900.

All 2026 Passports are powered by a 3.5-liter V6, rated at 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, sending power to the standard i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system through a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Honda’s light truck platform underpins the whole thing, providing the new Passport with a 72% increase in front lateral rigidity and a 50% increase in rear torsional rigidity. Lined up with the outgoing model, the new Passport’s 113.6-inch wheelbase is over 2 inches longer, and a front and rear track wider by more than an inch gives off a more muscular presence while also improving handling. The longer wheelbase also contributes to more rear seat legroom, increased by more than an inch. 

Basic amenities include a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, the latter supporting wireless smartphone projection. You’ll get those on every single Passport, but it’s the $700 RTL Towing package adds a Class III hitch and a seven-pin connector, and the $1,200 Blackout package that stealths out the wheels and badging.

Those who want the most machismo they can get out of their Honda Passport will want to beeline to the TrailSports. Here, General Grabber 275/60R18 all-terrain tires wrap unique 18-inch wheels, meeting the ground with suspension tuning exclusive to this overlanding grade, featuring different spring rates, damper valve tuning and stabilizer bars. Steel skid plates are mounted to protect the oil pan, transmission and fuel tank; and if the trail gets a little too dicey, front and rear recovery points, rated at twice the Passport’s gross vehicle weight, are in place. The front hooks have been designed to break away during front collisions.

The interior is seamed together with orange stitching, contrasting the synthetic leather upholstery. The panoramic sunroof is standard to better let the outdoors into the cabin; the all-season floor mats are also standard, making it easy to clean up when too much of the outdoors makes it in. Stepping up to the $53,900 TrailSport Elite, adds smart entry, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear climate controls, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and plenty more; and yes, the Blackout package is available on either TrailSport.
