2025 Honda Odyssey Refreshed to be a Sportier Minivan
July 22, 2024You may read that headline and think we’re being cheeky– and, to an extent, we are– but it’s very true: The Honda Odyssey minivan is being refreshed for the 2025 model year, and while this mid-cycle update isn’t bringing any extra performance to this bona fide people mover, it does bring some noteworthy improvements to the onboard tech and some slick new styling elements.
Spearheading the aesthetic changes is a new grille, self-defined as “sporty,” matched by a pair of tweaked fascias forward and aft. The front bumper is gussied up by black fog light surrounds, while the rear sees the same vertical reflectors used on the Acura NSX– yeah, that NSX. Not quite as illustrious, but still plenty welcome, are the new wheel designs, including 19-inch alloys on the top-trim Odyssey Elite; however, both new paint options, Solar Silver Metallic and Smoke Blue Pearl, can be had on all trims, EX-L, Sport-L and Touring comprising the other three.
Inside, drivers now benefit from a new 7-inch instrument panel with a physical speedometer integrated into the right side. Model standard is a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration, joined by a wireless device charger. USB-C charge ports are situated throughout the cabin. The rear passenger rear entertainment unit has also been enlarged, now 12.8-inches, with its HDMI input relocated into the center console, which also features a dedicated bin for storing your selected streaming device.
As mentioned, performance remains at a healthy level: 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque supplied by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. This naturally-aspirated power plant sends all that minivan might to the front wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission, controllable by a pair of paddle shifters should those expressway merges warrant some precise maneuvering.
In all seriousness, the minivan may be a less common breed now, but they’re mighty practical for family hauling; and entries like the Honda Odyssey continue to prove their worth. To that extent, the 2025 Honda Odyssey, available at dealerships beginning July 23, starts at $43,315 with delivery. That covers the cost of a base EX-L; the Sport-L starts at $44,465; the Touring makes a larger leap at $48,005; and the Elite tops the charts at $52,275.
