Clean Cities: Tucson, Arizona
Our success story this week takes us to Tucson, Arizona, where Golden Eagle Distributors continues to increase its use of compressed natural gas delivery trucks. Golden Eagle now operates 32 CNG trucks in Tucson and Casa Grande with more on the way. They work with Ryder Systems, a charter partner in the DOE's National Clean Fleets program.
In 2012 Beverage World Magazine named Golden Eagle National Fleet of the Year, and they’re proud of their record of lowering costs and greenhouse emissions.
BILL OSTEEN: “When we explained the cost benefits… the trucks cost more but the fuel’s a lot less so in the trade off… we were actually going to save money from day one.”
JOHN DAVIS: Working with Tucson Clean Cities coalition and CNG partner Trillium, Golden Eagle has built two public access CNG fueling stations with a third planned. So, cheers…to truly green beer.
