Blackwing began with Cadillac’s exclusive twin-turbo V8 engine that was available for a very limited time in the CT6.  Now, Blackwing spreads even further with high performance versions of the CT4 and CT5 sedans, essentially picking up where the ATS-V and legendary CTS-V left off.

The 2022 CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing share the same track-ready purpose; and have much in common.

Both feature a 6-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, with available 10-speed automatic. Both get complete suspension overhauls, structural reinforcements, and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0. Also, an electronic limited slip rear differential, the largest brakes ever bolted onto a production Cadillac, and a wild-looking digital instrument cluster.

Where they differ is of course size, and what’s under the hood. The compact CT4-V Blackwing gets a twin-turbo V6; yes, just like the ATS-V. Output is now 472-horsepower and 445 lb-ft. of torque; adequate for sub 4-second 0-60s.

John Davis: "The new Cadillac Blackwings look like total competition-style packages from lightweight engine internals to beefy Brembo brakes. I am especially intrigued by the smaller CT4-V Blackwing. It’s bound to speak best to European rivals. I just can’t wait to trade this steering wheel for either of these two Blackwing’s."

The midsize CT5-V Blackwing does not get the CT6-V’s twin-turbo V8, rather a supercharged 6.2-liter V8; once again, exactly like the CTS-V. Cranking out 668-horsepower and 659 lb-ft. of torque; it will get to 60 in 3.7-seconds, has a top speed in excess of 200 miles-per-hour, and should give Hellcat sedans a run for their money.

Greg Carloss: "Hey, I love epic hits of torque from turbochargers as much as the next person, but I am happy to see the 6.2L supercharged V8 back in a Cadillac sedan, because it’s what gave CTS-V’s of old their edge and it really kept you on your toes at the track. I suspect I’ll be on my tippy-toes in this CT5-V Blackwing."

Yes, all is right with the world; Cadillac Vs are the real deal once again, with the help of Blackwing. Deliveries will begin this summer for both; CT4-V Blackwing starts at around $60,000, the CT5-V Blackwing at about $85,000.
