Well, if you’re a Porsche fan, you had to have seen this one coming.  It’s the 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS.  With Regular, S, Turbo, and even E-Hyrbrid models already in the lineup, the lack of a current GTS version was glaring; and has now been remedied.

Available in both stylish Coupe and traditional SUV form for those looking for a little more practicality.  But, Porsche brought this Cashmere Beige Metallic Coupe to our headquarters for an exclusive first drive opportunity.  It did not disappoint.

GTS goodies you can see, include black finishes for the front air intakes, greenhouse trim, exhaust tips, and of course the 21-inch RS Spyder design wheels for the exterior; Alcantara leather, dark brushed aluminum trim, and logos stitched on the upgraded sport seats for the inside.

As for the more exciting things you can’t see as easily, they include a detuned version of the Cayenne Turbo’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, with 453-horsepower.

Porsche’s 3-chamber air suspension is standard here, with a ride height that is more than an inch lower than the Cayenne S.

It all makes for a package that’s heavy on the Sport, but doesn’t leave the Grand Touring behind.

"Having been fortunate enough to have driven just about every Cayenne model, I think this GTS does achieve its mission of being right there in the middle. But performance is relative because this thing is fast, it handles better than it has any right to, but it’s still right there, believe it or not, between all those models. And bang for the buck, which I realize is also relative, is definitely here because you get a ton of performance even though it’s not the highest performing Cayenne.”

The 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS is a goldilocks of a utility that may fit you just right.  Available this fall, prices start at about $108,000 for the Cayenne; and about $111,000 for the Cayenne Coupe.
