This week’s Quick Spin takes us to Portugal, for a first drive of the 2020 Porsche Macan GTS.

Slotting between the Macan S and Turbo models, the GTS essentially takes a bunch of previously available options, and lumps them into one value-added package, plus gives you a little performance upgrade over the S to make it even more worth your while.

That means an additional 27-horsepower from the turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, for a total of 375; it breathes easier through a sport exhaust system, and powers increased handling capabilities thanks to the recalibrated PASM Sport suspension with lower ride height.

All-wheel-drive is standard, as is a 7-speed PDK transmission.

“Typical for the Porsche GTS formula, it’s not just about some additional horsepower, just about everything in the GTS gets upgraded compared to the Macan S. So, it doesn’t necessarily have a different feel; just if you go looking for it, you’ll find a little more performance there.”

Black trim for the headlights, and clear lenses for the tails, spearhead the exterior additions. You’ll also get 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels, larger air intakes in the unique front fascia, and GTS logoed side blades.

Inside, there’s GTS Sport seats, black aluminum trim, and lots of Alcantara leather.

Pricing for the 2020 Porsche Macan GTS starts around $72,000, and they’re available now.
