2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid
Delivers Efficiency Without Compromising Off-Road Performance
The demand for a Forester Hybrid has long been voiced by many Subaru loyalists, and that day has finally come with the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid. Efficiency and no compromise off-road performance are critical to Forester customers and this hybrid-compact-SUV certainly delivers.
With 194 total system horsepower and an impressive EPA estimated rating of 35 miles-per-gallon City, 34 Highway and 35 Combined, the hybrid is capable of a 581 mile range. Surprisingly in my very quiet 8 hours behind the wheel from Woodside, California to Half Moon Bay and back, my golden toes were able to squeak out 37 Combined. And that’s with a gnarly off road stop in Hollister Hills.
“What I like the most, and what I think most loyal Forester buyers are going to like the most about this hybrid is that there’s no compromise over the regular gasoline version Forester. Especially in regards to fuel tank size, its the same 16.6 gallon tank, and in the Hybrid where you’re getting a mixed thirty-five-miles to the gallon that equals a 581 mile-range…you do have to give up a spare tire for that, but its a small price to pay, I guess.
And, off-roading, like we are now, there’s no compromise in the clearances over the gas powered Forester, or the off-road prowess, so people that really rely on their Foresters to get where they’re going don’t have anything to worry about there either.”
The Forester Hybrid is available in four trim levels starting at $34,995 for the entry level Premium model, next the Sport starts at $37,995, then the Limited kicking it off for $39,410, and lastly the Touring model begins at $41,695. All models get this slick new 12.3 inch digital gauge cluster, a tablet style 11.6 inch multimedia nav system and Subaru’s eye-sight driver assist technology.
