We’ve now had a second go in the 2025 Porsche Macan Electric, this time hitting its hometown roads around Stuttgart, Germany in the base Macan and Macan 4S, which round out the four initial model offerings, joining the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo we drove a few months ago.

All Macan Electrics draw power from a 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack, rated at 95 kilowatts useable. The 800-volt architecture accepts up to 270 kilowatts of fast-charging for 10-to-80% pit stops in just 21 minutes. In the real-world, where 150-kilowatt chargers are more common, we would expect a 35-minute wait.

Max driving range in the base Macan is 315 miles, dropping to 308 in the Macan 4 and 288 miles for both the Macan 4S and Turbo…not a significant drop considering the performance gains those models deliver.

The rear-motor, rear-drive base Macan electric twists out 415 pound-feet of torque to go with 335 horsepower. That power figure is boosted to 355 with launch control engaged, which allows a 0 to 60 sprint of 5.4 seconds, enroute to a 137 mile per hour top speed.

Macan 4S adds a front motor to achieve all-wheel-drive, and a power upgrade to 442 standard, or 509 in Launch Mode. Zero to 60 times drop to 3.9, and top end rises to 149.

Macan 4 and Turbo use the same front motor, but different rear motors to achieve their respective peak power levels of 402 and 630 horsepower.

DAVE SCRIVENER:“Each of the four Macan models has a distinct performance profile, tailored to a certain driver’s wants and needs. You’re not giving up on performance with the base model Macan even. You have all the luxury, the technology, the features, and the driving dynamics you expect in a Porsche, and it’s not…it doesn’t feel like it’s built to a price.”

All Macan Electrics come standard with single-chamber air suspension, and the latest Porsche Active Suspension Management System. With a low center of gravity due to the bottom-mounted battery, and a sporty 52/48 weight distribution, the EV Macans all deliver light-footed handling on par or better than their ice-engined counterparts.

During our spirited European drives, even on some rain-slick roads, the Macan always left us feeling confident and in-control.

DAVE SCRIVENER:“So your heart might say you want a sports car, but your mind says maybe you need more utility, the Macan might be the answer.”

Pricing starts at $75,300 for the base Macan Electric, stepping up to $78,800 in the Macan 4, $84,900 with the 4S, and topping out at $105,300 for the Macan Turbo.

And we’ll have our full test results and more in-depth impressions of the 2025 Porsche Macan electric models, on a future episode of MotorWeek.
