2025 Chevrolet Equinox
The Chevrolet Equinox has been a consistent leader in the compact SUV segment for more than twenty years. Now, for its fourth generation, the all-new Equinox reveals a new side of its personality, its adventurous side, offering this ACTIV trim complete with rugged off-road styling, a distinctive front fascia, a uniquely tuned suspension and all terrain tires.
And you may notice in general for 2025, the Chevy Equinox has a broader stance. It’s 2.5 inches wider than the previous generation and looks more truck-like with Silverado influences. Not to be confused with the Equinox EV.
Under the hood, the 2025 Equinox is powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine producing 175 horsepower. Front-wheel drive configurations are paired with a CVT or an eight-speed automatic transmission with available all-wheel drive. I spent a few hours behind the wheel of the all-wheel drive ACTIV trim recently.
“The turbocharged engine provides better acceleration and it’s a smoother drive overall compared to the previous generation.”
As you can see, its interior is more modern than ever before and tech is a highlight. An 11-inch driver information center is paired with a new 11.3 inch infotainment screen with google built-in.
“I personally like the larger infotainment screen. It’s 30% larger than the previous generation.”
As I found out behind the wheel, it’s capable on the roads driving through the Minneapolis area and the ACTIV trim shows off its thirst for adventure even offering a new off-road mode as well as snow, ice mode. A sporty RS trim and standard LT trim are also available. And the RS trim now has available 20-inch wheels, the largest wheels ever offered on an Equinox.
Chevrolet’s best-selling crossover offers more standard safety and driver assistance features than ever before, including Chevy safety assist and side bicycle alert.
Cargo space is versatile with 63.5 cubic feet of storage with the rear seats folded down.
The 2025 Chevy Equinox starts at just under 30-thousand dollars. We’ll have more details on the 2025 Equinox soon on MotorWeek.
