2025 Cadillac OPTIQ
A Compact Package With a Midsize Feel
We’re just back from San Francisco and our first time behind the wheel in Cadillac’s newest EV crossover, the OPTIQ.
Aimed at bringing more youthful buyers into the Cadillac family, OPTIQ leans into cutting edge styling, advanced sustainable materials and a dynamic driving experience for its signature appeal.
Dave Scrivener: “OPTIQ is the new entry level into the Cadillac brand. They wanted it to have a sporty, nimble nature and I think they achieved that. Dual-motor all-wheel-drive is the standard layout here. The wheelbase at 116-inches is 6-inches less than the LYRIQ, so it’s a compact package with midsize feel and stability.”
Outside, dramatic led lighting, unique side quarter glass treatment, a vented rear spoiler, and sculptural design elements enhance aerodynamics while making a striking visual statement.
Inside the tech-heavy cabin, a 33-inch diagonal led display with 9K resolution projects over one billion colors. The infotainment system features google built-in compatibility. Best-in-class cargo capacity and rear seat space will “wow” the practical-minded, while a fixed glass roof creates a bright, airy ambiance.
Riding on GM’s Ultium battery platform, OPTIQ draws energy from an 85-kilowatt battery pack and feeds front and rear motors for confident four-wheel delivery of its 300 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. One pedal driving and paddle-activated variable regen on demand are standard, as is GM’s SuperCruise hands-free driver assistance and a laundry list of other sensing and safety technologies. Driving range is pegged at 302 miles, and with optimum DC fast charging, can reload up to 79 miles of range in 10 minutes.
If Hi-Fi audio is your thing, OPTIQ has that covered, thanks to a superb Dolby Atmos audio system that goes beyond surround sound with clarity and separation that needs to be heard in person to fully appreciate. Atmos will be available across the Cadillac lineup for the 2026 model year.
The Cadillac OPTIQ is offered in two trim levels, Sport or Luxury. On sale now, pricing starts at around $54,000.
We’ll have more on the entry-level luxury EV soon so keep it locked, right here on MotorWeek.
