Dodge Challenger Shakedown Revealed; First “Last Call” Model
Alongside the unfortunate news of the Dodge Challenger and Charger being discontinued after the 2023 model year, seven special “Last Call” models were teased. The first of the bunch was just unveiled, called the "Shakedown." The 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown will be limited to 1,000 units, divided evenly between two separate configurations. The Shakedown recreates an original 2016 SEMA concept, following the same dark-primary and red-secondary color scheme.
Of the 1,000 units, 500 of them will be designated as R/T Scat Packs in Destroyer Grey. The rest of them will be R/T Scat Pack Widebodies in Pitch Black. They all come loaded with features from the Plus Group, Technology Group, Navigation, Carbon/Suede and Dynamics packages.
A MOPAR Shaker hood is, of course, proudly displayed upfront, garnished with an underhood decal. Red “392” fender graphics breakup the side profile, and the rear sees a “Shakedown” spoiler graphic. Wheels are 20x9.5-inches on the R/T Scat Pack, beefed up to 20x11-inches on the Widebody; in either case, they sheath six-piston Brembo brakes, painted red to match the various accents. The cabin sees equal appointments: black Nappa/Alcantara seats held together by red stitching. The red accent stitching carries throughout the cockpit, and red seatbelts are included for good measure. The 2023 Challenger Shakedowns will be allocated to specific dealerships, with pricing and ordering to open later this fall. The next “Last Call” model is to be announced on August 31st, and we expect to see the remaining six special editions to be revealed in the coming months, with the final to be unveiled at this year’s SEMA Show, November 1st-4th.
